Technical & Compatibility

Yes, datasheets and manuals are available for all of our instruments on koboldusa.com. For any documentation for discontinued products, please contact us at customerservice@koboldusa.com.

Many products support common industrial protocols (e.g., analog signals, HART®, Modbus). For system-specific compatibility, please review specific product datasheets or schedule an engineering consultation.

Each product has defined operating ranges for temperature, pressure, and media. Please refer to the datasheets or contact us for guidance.

Yes, our team can review specifications and recommend a comparable KOBOLD product. Supplying as much product information about the cross-over product and the reason for replacement will accelerate us being able to suggest the most suitable solution. Sending a picture of the product with no other details is generally not enough information for us to make an informed recommendation. Please include details of your application, including media, line size, viscosity, density, temperature, pressure, range, etc.

Product Selection & Applications

Once we know your media, flow range, pressure, temperature, and installation details, we can recommend the right instrument. For flow products, you can review our article about how to choose a flow meter that details all the considerations that go into identifying an optimized solution. Yes, custom configurations may be possible depending on the product.

Accessories vary by product, such as displays, fittings, or calibration certificates. Suggested accessories can be found within the datasheets or product pages.

Quoting & Lead Times

Our goal is within 2 business days. On average, quotes are returned in less than 1 day. Complex applications may take longer if engineering review is required. Complex products that require a completed app guide specific to that product cannot be quoted at all until the app guide is completed as the product cannot be correctly made without them. If you require help filling out and application guide, please contact us at customerservice@koboldusa.com. Products that require a completed app guide are notated within the product page content and the datasheets themselves. They are available for download in the resources section of the product pages.

To provide the most accurate quote, at the minimum to start the process in an expedient manner, please share:

  • Media (what’s flowing)
  • Flow range and direction
  • Pressure and temperature conditions
  • Line size and connection type (NPT, flange, sanitary, etc.)
  • Material requirements (e.g., 316SS, brass, plastic)
  • Any approvals/certifications needed

Yes. Datasheets/Spec Sheets contain detailed technical specifications, while spec sheets are shorter summaries or overviews. They are available on our website or upon request for any discontinued products.

Our Customer Success team can guide you through the details. For highly technical requests, setting up an engineering consultation may be the best way to start the process with us.

Pricing & Orders

Lead time depends on the product and order quantity. Many of our top selling products are stocked and/or made in our Pittsburgh facility and can be made quickly. Some of our products come from Europe and are subject to European lead times, which are typically longer. Please contact us directly at 412-788-2830 or customerservice@koboldusa.com for lead times for the exact model that you are interested in. Emergency orders due to down processes/equipment may be able to be expedited. Please contact us by phone at the number above in this situation to ensure we can respond to your emergency as fast as possible.

Discounts are available to authorized distributors based on account performance. Large OEM projects are reviewed case by case. If ordering a test piece for an OEM in development, let our sales team know—we’ll guide you through a different process than end-users. Direct end-users receive list pricing; special pricing requests can be sent to customerservice@koboldusa.com.

Volume discounts may be available.

Price adjustments may occur from time to time due to factors such as material costs or market conditions. We do our best to provide notice when possible and work with customers to ease transitions.

Payment options depend on your account status. New customers are encouraged to pay via ACH or Credit Card at the time of order (note: Credit Card payments include a state-dependent surcharge). Net 30 terms are available upon approval and require a credit check; maintaining these terms requires 3 years of active business with Kobold. We accept ACH, Credit Card, and Check. For any payment concerns, please contact our team during quoting or ordering.

Orders normally ship via standard carriers. Orders that exceed the size limits of standard carriers are sent via specialized carriers and may incur higher than standard shipping costs. If you have concerns about shipping costs, please let our customer service department know at the time or order so we can follow up if needed.

If you know at the time of order that you require the order by a certain date, please mention this during your order so we can confirm if it is likely to arrive in time with standard shipping. If you have to expedite an order that has already been placed, please call us at 412-788-2830 so we can assist you. Our shipping department does have a cut-off time so the sooner we know, the better chance we can help.

KOBOLD sells directly and through authorized distributors. If you prefer to work with a distributor, please contact us at 412-788-2830 so we can connect you with the one that will best serve your overall needs. An inquiry that is placed with us may be referred automatically to our partner network for the most efficient follow up.

Yes, we can provide virtual training sessions or walkthroughs for your team.

Datasheets, manuals, and application guides are available online.

All quotes, orders, and inquiries are logged in our CRM/ERP system for full visibility.

Our Customer Success team is trained on our top product families and can often configure and quote directly. For technical cases, our engineer will review and approve.

Warranties, Calibration & Maintenance

Products are covered against defects in material and workmanship. View our policy.

No, extended warranties are not currently an option. For any concerns, please connect with our team at customerservice@koboldusa.com.

Repairs are handled at our U.S. headquarters or in our Germany headquarters, depending on the product. Contact us first to determine the best option at customerservice@koboldusa.com.

Turnaround varies and depends on the product, parts availability, and the extent of damage. After evaluation, Kobold may suggest a replacement if repair is not cost-effective.

Frequency depends on the application, industry standards, and usage. Many customers recalibrate annually. To learn more about calibration, read our in depth article.

Yes, calibration services are available at our U.S. headquarters and through Germany.

Certificates include traceable calibration data.
