Product Description

The KOBOLD DOG-4 flow meter is designed to measure the flow of gases. As the gaseous media flows through an orifice within the metal tube, the dynamic pressure at the orifice causes a small part of the volumetric flow to divide into the bypass channel. This division ratio remains constant over the entire measuring range. The bypass channel contains the oscillator, which is the measuring element. When the gas flows through it, a gas column oscillates in a U-shaped channel mounted to the left and right. This oscillation frequency is proportional to the flow velocity and to the total volumetric flow. A platinum sensor determines the oscillation frequency. A subsequent alternating electrical signal is then generated and is displayed and/or transmitted by the electronics module.
