Optical Level Switches
Optical level switches detect level by sensing the difference in refraction index between media. When liquid is not touching the sensor, all transmitted light reflects back to the receiver; when liquid contacts the sensor, part of the light passes into the liquid, and the receiver switches on the difference in signal.
