Displacer Type Level Gauges
Displacer type level gauges measure liquid level using the Archimedes principle. A displacer rod hangs from a measuring spring by a chain; as liquid rises around the rod, a buoyant force proportional to the mass of displaced liquid reduces the load on the spring, indicating the level.
