The DVE multivariable insertion-design vortex flow meters use up to three primary sensing elements for flow measurement: a vortex-shedding velocity sensor, an RTD temperature sensor, and a solid-state pressure transducer to measure the mass flow rate of gases, liquids and steam.
Systems that use external process measurements may not provide adequate enough compensation for process conditions that can change between the point of velocity measurement and the point where upstream or downstream pressure and temperature measurements are happening. Because the DVE measures all of these parameters in one single location, it delivers a more accurate measurement. Integrating multivariable output capability with a single line penetration also simplifies the system complexity. It also helps reduce initial equipment cost, installation cost and overall maintenance costs.
Three models are available: The DVE-V vortex flow meter provides a cost effective volumetric flow monitoring solution for most liquids; the DVE-T vortex flow meter incorporates temperature sensing to provide a compensated mass flow reading of saturated steam; and the DVE-P multivariable vortex flow meter delivers mass flow, temperature, pressure and density readings from a single device.
For applications best suited for an inline installation, KOBOLD offers two inline vortex flow meters. The DVZ Compact Inline Vortex Flow Meter offers flow measurement, switching, and batching capabilities. For more rigourous applications and mulitvariable measurement capabilities, consider the DVH Inline Vortex and Multivariable Flow Meter.

**This product requires completion of our Application Guide before specification and ordering.**
This product line offers multiple configuration options and technical specifications that must be precisely matched to/calibrated for your specific application requirements. Unlike standard configurable items, these products are engineered solutions that require detailed application information to ensure optimal performance.
Unless this is a repeat order of a previously specified product with Kobold, we cannot accept orders or provide quotations without a completed Application Guide. Product numbers selected without proper application review may not meet your system requirements and could result in performance issues or compatibility problems.
Even if you believe you've identified the correct part number, the Application Guide process is required to verify compatibility and ensure a streamlined quote/order process.
The PDF Application Guide can be downloaded directly from this product page in the “Resource Tab” below and is also attached to the end of the product datasheet. Completed forms can be submitted to customerservice@koboldusa.com.
